This large-scale wall sculpture by artists Anne Moran and Robert Brown anchors the main lobby of Victory Commons One in Dallas, Texas. The 18-foot-wide by 10-foot-high artwork is composed of layered aluminum tiles that shift in color from deep blue to gold, capturing and reflecting the changing light within the space. The piece complements the architectural vision of BOKA Powell for Hillwood Urban, integrating seamlessly with the lobby’s natural materials—brick, wood, and glass—while adding a radiant focal point that embodies energy, sophistication, and movement.
The goal of the commission was to create an artwork that would energize and define the public space while harmonizing with the building’s contemporary design. The developers envisioned a piece that would embody the innovation and vitality of the Victory Park district, offering a dynamic visual experience for tenants and visitors alike. The artists responded with a work that uses abstraction, color, and dimensionality to evoke light, motion, and atmosphere—qualities that echo the city’s sense of forward momentum.
Hillwood Urban approached Anne Moran and Robert Brown after discovering their work online and seeking a similar aesthetic for the lobby of Victory Commons One. After collaborative discussions about scale, placement, and materiality, the artists proposed several size and pricing options tailored to the architectural context. They developed a series of renderings to visualize how the artwork would integrate with the lobby’s lighting and surfaces. Once the concept was approved, the artists fabricated the sculpture in their studio. Moran Brown managed transport and installation, ensuring the completed artwork was perfectly aligned with the building’s architectural vision. The result is a seamless fusion of art and architecture that enhances the energy and elegance of the space.
